Precision Rifle 1 (PR1)-Intro to Precision Rifle

Course Topics:

In this Two-Day basic precision rifle training course, you’ll learn the essentials of precision shooting. We will cover basic components, different pieces of equipment and their uses, ballistics, and the fundamentals of marksmanship. This course will equip you with the knowledge and techniques needed to set up your precision rifle, zero your rifle, and hit targets accurately at extended distances

Prerequisites: None

Open Enrollment. Military-only or Law Enforcement-only courses are available by special request – these courses contain special learning objectives, training techniques, and final exercises tailored to military or law enforcement needs and missions.

Fee: $750 ($675 for Active Cowtown Range members, Military, and Law Enforcement)

Precision Rifle 2 (PR2)-Intermediate Precision Rifle

Course Topics:

In this Two-Day intermediate precision rifle training course, we will take your precision shooting skills to the next level. We will dive deeper into topics like advanced ballistics, wind calls, holds, and positional shooting. We will cover shooting under stress, positional changes, and multiple target engagements. You will refine your marksmanship techniques and learn advanced tactics for consistent accuracy at distance.

Prerequisite: Intro to Precision Rifle (PR1)

Open Enrollment. Military-only or Law Enforcement-only courses are available by special request - these courses contain special learning objectives, training techniques, and final exercises tailored to military or law enforcement needs and missions.

Fee: $750 ($675 for Active Cowtown Range members, Military, and Law Enforcement)

Precision Rifle 3 (PR3)-Advanced Precision

Course Topics:

In this Two-Day advanced precision rifle training course, you’ll enhance your knowledge of target acquisition and field craft.  We will further refine your skills in advanced ballistics, target identification, and shooter/observer communication. You will also apply specialized techniques for multiple target engagements, unknown distance engagements, unconventional positional shooting, and advanced tripod employment.

Prerequisites: Precision Rifle 1 and 2 or equivalent LE/MIL experience

Precision Rifle 4 (PR4)-Advanced Tactical Precision

Course Topics:

In this Two-Day advanced precision rifle training course, you will learn highly advanced techniques to effectively work together in multiple teams by building your communication skills to provide precision rifle support. We will develop your skills in navigating complex landscapes and adapting to various scenarios, as well as enhancing your skills to track, lead, and time your shots on a moving target while maintaining precision under dynamic conditions.

Prerequisites: Tactical Precision 1

Precision Rifle Matches (PM1)-Intro to Precision Rifle Matches

Course Topics:

In this One-Day, introduction to precision rifle matches course you will learn how to participate in Precision Rifle Series Matches. We will cover equipment requirements, match rules, scoring, competitor and equipment divisions, reading stage plans, and match commands. We will cover how to get into and out of various shooting positions while building a strong and stable platform to effective engage targets at distance. This course covers all the details needed to get started in the world of precision rifle matches. This course is very unique in that it runs in conjunction with a live AZ Long Range Precision Rifle Series match. You will get direct instruction and coaching while participating in an active match.

Prerequisites: Precision Rifle 1 (PR1)

Fee: $400 ($360 for Active Cowtown Range members, Military, and Law Enforcement)

Accurized AR Matches (AAM1)-Intro to Accurized AR Matches

Course Topics:

In this One-Day introduction to accurized AR matches course, you will learn what makes an AR "accurized" and how to participate in these unique and challenging matches. We will cover required equipment, match rules, scoring, competitor and equipment divisions, reading stage plans, and match commands. We will cover how to get into and out of various shooting positions while building a strong and stable platform to effective engage targets at distance. This course covers all the details needed to get started participating in Accurized AR matches. This course is very unique in that it runs in conjunction with our Accurized AR monthly match. You will get direct instruction and coaching while participating in an active match.

Prerequisites: Precision Rifle 1 (PR1)

Fee: $400 ($360 for Active Cowtown Range members, Military, and Law Enforcement)

  • AMMO (REQUIRED)
    • 100 Rounds per day (Note: Match grade required, .308 caliber minimum 168 grain / 175 highly recommended, 6.5 Creedmoor minimum 140 grain)
  • RIFLE SYSTEM (RIFLE WITH OPTIC)
    • Required:
      • Minimum caliber of 5.56/.223, maximum caliber 300 WinMag
      • Capable of at least 1 MOA of accuracy
      • Scope with at least 3.5X – 10X magnification range with exposed target style turrets
      • Scope associated tools for fasteners and owner’s manual
      • Bipods, capable of left/right cant adjustments
      • Rifle data book (Note: Can be substituted with notebook)
      • Rear shooting support
      • Rifle cleaning kit/tools
    • Optional:
      • Sling

      • Appropriate clothing for weather (Note: Long sleeves, pants, technical clothing preferred)
